The Estate Divided is a strategic social deduction card game where secrets, lies, and manipulation decide who inherits a powerful family fortune. Perfect for fans of murder mystery games, party strategy games, and social deception games, players must uncover a hidden murderer while protecting their own dark secrets.

In this high-tension deduction game, every player has something to hide. The estate’s patriarch is dead, the inheritance is up for grabs, and one of the heirs is responsible for the murder. Through negotiation, accusation, and psychological strategy, players must gather evidence and expose the killer before their own crimes are revealed.

If the murderer is convicted, the player with the highest reputation wins the estate. But if the murderer survives… they take everything.

How to Play The Estate Divided

1. Your Objectives

Every player enters the game with two conflicting goals:

Expose the murderer and help secure their conviction.
• Keep your own secret crime hidden from the other heirs.

If you are secretly the Murderer, your only objective is simple:

Avoid conviction at all costs.

2. What Each Player Starts With

At the beginning of the game, every player receives:

• 1 Persona Card (Face-Up) – Your public identity and special ability.

• 1 Secret Crime Card (Face-Down) – Your hidden crime that must remain secret.

• 2 Reputation Points – Your public standing among the heirs.

• 1 Leverage Card – Information you can use to force revelations.

Two central decks drive the investigation:

• Evidence Deck – Clues about the murder.

• Event Deck – Unexpected twists that change the game.

3. Game Setup

1. Shuffle and deal 1 Persona card face-up to each player.

2. Shuffle and deal 1 Secret Crime card face-down to each player.

3. Give each player 2 Reputation and 1 Leverage card.

4. Shuffle the Evidence and Event decks separately and place them in the center.

The investigation is ready to begin.

4. Game Rounds

Each round follows three phases:

Evidence Reveal

Reveal one Evidence card.
Players discuss what the clue might mean for two minutes.

Event Reveal

Reveal one Event card that introduces new rules, twists, or opportunities.

Open Discussion & Negotiation

For 5–7 minutes, players can freely interact.

There are no turns during discussion. Players may:

• Accuse other heirs

• Defend themselves

• Share or hide information

• Make deals

• Negotiate alliances

• Lie or bluff

This is where alliances break, secrets slip, and suspicion spreads.

5. Exposing Crimes

If a player publicly reveals another player’s crime:

• The exposer gains +1 Reputation

• The exposed player loses 1 Reputation

However, if your crime becomes public, you immediately lose 1 Reputation and can no longer win the game, even if the murderer is caught.

6. Using Leverage

Leverage cards represent dangerous information.

You gain leverage when a player privately reveals their Secret Crime to you during negotiations.

Spend 1 Leverage card to force that player to publicly reveal their crime.

Results:

• If the crime is Murder: Immediate conviction. The game ends.

• If the player is innocent: You made a false accusation and lose 1 Reputation.

Leverage creates powerful blackmail opportunities... and risky gambles.

7. Formal Accusations

At any time during discussion, a player may call for a Formal Accusation.

The group votes, and a majority is required to proceed.

The accused must reveal their Secret Crime.

If the crime is Murder:
The murderer is convicted and the game ends.

If the player is innocent:

• The accuser loses 1 Reputation

• The accused gains 1 Reputation

• The accused receives immunity for one round

If two false accusations occur, the game automatically ends.

Players with 0 Reputation cannot call accusations.

8. Winning The Estate

There are two possible endings:

If the Murderer is Convicted
The eligible player with the highest Reputation wins the inheritance.

If the Murderer Survives
The Murderer wins the entire estate.

Important:
Any player whose Secret Crime was exposed cannot win, even if the murderer is caught.
